A New Jersey native, Kayla considers herself a true triple threat: actor, singer, and Italian....no that's not right...performer, creator, and teacher. There we go. She grew up with a love to sing and perform since the moment she began to speak and hasn't stopped since.
She now resides in Central Pennsylvania with her husband where she works as a voice teacher and coach, vocal director, singer, actor, and creator. Regionally she has performed with Fulton Theatre, Gretna Theatre, Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre, Allenberry Playhouse, Theatre Harrisburg, Hershey Area Playhouse, and Bare Bones Theatre Ensemble. She also recently made her NYC debut in Understudies: Now it’s Their Turn at the Producer’s Club Theatre. In 2019 Kayla created and her debuted her one woman show: Maybe This Time I’ll Belt at Open Stage of Harrisburg. Kayla has also amassed a following of over 20K on TikTok where she creates educational content for musical theatre students. She created a series on Instagram called In Conversation With…where she partners with a different professional in the theatre industry each week to go LIVE and have conversation about their experiences in the industry, offer advice, answer questions, and learn. She connected with Laura Benanti through the hashtag #SunshineSongs, which Laura created to highlight students whose shows were cancelled due to COVID-19, and Kayla performed in her virtual Sunshine Songs Concert. She maintains a full private studio from her home and is also an adjunct instructor in music at Lebanon Valley College where she received her B.A. in Music with a concentration in voice. She is the vocal director for the musical at Central Dauphin East High School and has also vocal directed other shows in the area including Mary Poppins at the Allenberry Playhouse. She held the position of soprano soloist and section leader at Pine Street Presbyterian Church for three years under the direction of Brett A. Terry. She regularly visits NYC for masterclasses, workshops, and coachings with renowned artists including Natalie Weiss, Betsy Wolfe, and Alexa Green.
A proud NATS member, Kayla has been teaching for six years and currently offers private voice lessons and coachings with an emphasis on vocal health and freedom. She studied classical technique under Dr. Rebecca Lister and continues to study both classical and contemporary technique with today’s leading vocal pedagogues including Michael Hadary, Jared Trudeau, Mary Saunders Barton, and Amanda Flynn with a focus in Musical Theatre Vocal Pedagogy. She has continued her education by completing Amanda Flynn's Winter 2021 Vocal Pedagogy Course, the Penn State Bel Canto Can Belto Workshop in 2020, taking classes with The Growing Studio in NYC, and Rock the Audition with Sheri Sanders.
